The Curious Case of the FB Malayalee
Why would someone want to be on Facebook? Sounds crazy enough a question, does it? Our own cool dude Vinu went around looking for answers among those 20-something Malayalees around him and on the web in a bid to find out the answer. And, gosh, look what he’s churned out.
While some haven’t even heard of the social networking medium many of you would swear by, there are others out there who remember seeing the charming blue insignia on some smartphone playing in well-to-do hands. That doesn’t mean Facebook is not a popular medium in this corner of the world. Facebook is indeed popular and there is many a reason as to why people log on even while immersed in work.
We found folks around us are almost all the time logged on – to tell us what’s happening with them and around them every passing second. While some do it to keep in touch with friends, many do it to stay engaged. Some of those socially committed young guys and girls out there do it to spread some message around, which they believe would ultimately change things from good to better and even the best.
There are many who wouldn’t want to resist the temptation of getting on to FB but are wary about those nosey creatures groping around. In a web world where privacy is just another wretched public affair, many would want to stay off. But then ultimately, Facebook is a rocking fan terrain, for the majority – though they feel the scare of being stalked persists.
Has social networking come of age, in modern day Kerala. Even the proactive youth find it scary to be stalked by fake profiled imposters. Does that turn out to be a healthy trend in a world where the web no longer has to do anything with the creepy crawly spider?

A comeback we all would applaud

A comeback we all would applaud

It seems to be the time of remakes in Mollywood. Though many a flick had been churned out as sequels, one film that succeeded in capturing audience imagination was Neelathamara, Lal Jose’s take on MT Vasudevan Nair’s yesteryear script.

Riding on the success of the modern day retelling of that tale, the Padmarajan-Bharatham opus Rathinirvedam is all geared up for an astounding show.
